Diab first made his mark as a celebrated screenwriter with hits like Alf Mabrouk, before making his explosive directorial debut with the groundbreaking drama Cairo 678 (Esmaa) in 2011, which garnered widespread critical acclaim and numerous international awards. Diab achieved global historic milestones with his sophomore directorial feature Clash (Eshtebak), which opened the Un Certain Regard section at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival to rave reviews, followed by his acclaimed feature Amira (2021). His extraordinary international rise culminated when he was tapped by Marvel Studios to direct episodes of the blockbuster Disney+ superhero series Moon Knight (2022).
