Joel Harlow is an Academy Award-winning American special makeup effects designer, prosthetics artist, and creature sculptor widely regarded as one of Hollywood's premier makeup masterminds. Heading his key studio, Morphology FX, Harlow led the special makeup effects, character prosthetics, and creature design for Sony Pictures' global blockbuster reboots Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) and Jumanji: The Next Level (2019). His legendary filmography features iconic character transformations, including Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, his Oscar-winning work on Star Trek (2009), and acclaimed prosthetic and makeup artistry for The Lone Ranger, Logan, Marvel's Black Panther, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and Denis Villeneuve's Dune.
